At Logie the river paths offer a variety of scenery and distance, with some really lovely views along this spectacular river valley.

Walking the Walks

If you are starting from the Steading, walk across the drive and follow the path beside the play area towards the river. This path, suitable for all ages, although not recommended for wheels of any sort, leads down to a viewpoint above the river and from there to a variety of routes depending on how far you want to walk.

The return loop to the steading is about 1km, the route upstream to the Meeting of The Waters and back about 3.5km and those looking for more exercise can cross the Divie and follow the Findhorn past Randolph's Leap and up to the Daltulich Bridge.

With the assistance of Awards for All we have now developed a path linking the Sluie Walk (Moray Estates) downstream of us with the walks accessed from Logie Steading. You can now more easily enjoy a walk along more of the Findhorn from Logie Steading, with way-markers and maps to guide you. There is a small fold-out map available at the steading for a small donation to the River Findhorn Interpretive Trust to help you on your way.

Please note: If you are thinking of parking at Sluie and walking up to Logie Steading, Moray Estates' Sluie Walk car park is currently closed while tree thinning takes place in the nearby woodland. This does not affect the walks or parking on Logie Estate/at Logie Steading.

The Dava Way, a long distance path from Forres to Grantown-on-Spey, can be joined or left at several points, including some walkable from Logie Steading, and there is access to the river for canoeists at Daltulich Bridge and Randolph's Leap.

Please take care; the river paths are often spectacular, but can be high above the river with unfenced sides and steep drops in many places.

Experience the River, from the River

If you would like to experience the river from the water rather than its banks, white water rafting, canoeing and kayaking can be organised with Ace Adventures, based at Auchnagairn just up the hill from Logie Steading.
