John Wilson Exhibition
at the Art Gallery’s Square Room
John was born in Edinburgh and was educated at Queen Victoria School in Dunblane. His art and teacher training was undertaken at Glasgow School of Art and then Jordanhill College of Education. He taught in secondary schools in Glasgow, Wick and Elgin before becoming PT Art at Nairn Academy. John gave up teaching in 1978 for health reasons to paint full time.
John is a founder member of the Blue Door Artist’s Studio in Nairn where he paints and exhibits. He works in Watercolour, Gouache and Acrylics and has work in private collections in the USA, France and Germany as well as the United Kingdom. His work combines strange acrobatic figures with Scottish landscape and wildlife which creates visual statements that stimulate the imagination of the onlooker to form their own interpretation.
Exhibition runs 3rd to 26th February
