My passion for the outdoors has taken me to the far reaches of Scotland and beyond. I enjoy exploring new places, this can be by foot, bike or on the water. Photography is important to me for capturing memories and interesting compositions for use in my art work. From a young age I’ve been captivated by the outdoors and it will always be my go to activity when I need a change of environment.

My most important values as a practicing artist are adventure, creativity and happiness. My work is designed to inspire and evoke memories within a person. It will lead them to a memorable embrace of a time or place. My work is meant to spark happiness within a person. Exploring different perspectives and looking at natural compositions in nature is fundamental to my creative process.

I’m creating my art and developing my style in an effort to inspire younger generations to explore and develop a love for the outdoors. The detail and ethereal style of my work is designed to draw people in and explore the location with their eyes, in a hope they will in turn explore the location in person. It’s showing off the impossible beauty of mother nature.

My vision for the coming year and beyond is to build a strong understanding of my chosen mediums, develop my style while sticking true to my values and create a small, personal business which is recognised in the community and beyond.

“I consider being outside a natural and significant part of my life. I take inspiration from the changes and movement in the raw environment that surrounds us, outside of our homes. Through the generation of ideas and creation of physical work, I hope to give people a chance to connect with the landscapes around us. Established within my output is a respect for nature. I hope to inspire others to advocate that respect and build a deeper understanding of wild places.”

In the lead up to my exhibition in August I plan to develop my style further and create many new pieces of work. During the summer I plan to explore Scotland and take inspiration from new locations and continue to build my portfolio. I will be exhibiting primarily black and white landscape pieces, primarily drawn in fine line black pen.
