at the Art Gallery’s Square Room
Alex is a graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art where he specialised in illustration. As a freelance illustrator he produced illustrations for publishing company DC Thomson and worked as a graphic designer for several years before entering the teaching profession. He became Principal Teacher of Art & Design and then Depute head Teacher at Elgin Academy.
Now retired, Alex paints full time using a variety of mediums including pastels, oils and acrylics. His work has sold in many countries and he has received commissions for paintings from Europe, the USA and Australia. This is his first solo exhibition and, although the work on show spans some twenty five years, six of the paintings have been completed since March 2018.
Exhibition runs April 5 – 29
