3 – 24 November, Fiona Matheson

Exhibition in the Square Room at Logie Steading Art Gallery

Known for her bold and vibrant textual work, Fiona is one of Scotland’s increasingly popular contemporary artists. Her painting combine the influence of landscape with experimental mark making and mixed media.
Born in Aberdeen and educated at Winchester School of Art Fiona now lives and works in the Highlands, drawing inspiration for her striking imagery from land, loch and sea. Fiona says, ‘Time spent with my gamekeeper father enabled me to access an inexhaustible vastness and range of subject matter during my college years.’

“ I try and paint every day or at least as much as I can get away with. When there is a deadline approaching I work intensely and then stop to explore fresh

ideas and discover new techniques”.
