Huge Excitement - the 11th and most recent edition of Peter Irvine's travel guide to Scotland has been published: Logie Steading is the only entry with TWO ticks under the heading: 'Best Shopping for Scotland'. The Olive Tree Cafe gets one tick under 'The Best Tearooms and Cafes' and a nice write up. Helen Trussell's Books (Peter Irvine's name!) gets a tick and a good write up under 'The Very Special Shops' .

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Recommended local Hotels and RestaurantsThe Boath House is an eight bedroom luxury Scottish hotel situated near the cities of Inverness and Elgin, on Scotland's north east coast. Fine dining is a particular feature, as the hotel boasts a much coveted Michelin star and 4 AA rosettes. www.boath-house.com B&B: Mrs Margaret McConnachie runs a very comfortable B&B at Woodside of Belivat, on the Nairn - Grantown road
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are travelling through Northumberland, and have enjoyed Logie Steading then Kirkharle, half an hour from Newcastle, is another interesting place to visit. The courtyard farm buildings are home to a collection of galleries, arts and crafts workshops and a cafe. The famous landscape gardener, 'Capability' Brown, was born at Kirkharle and the present owners have used one of his original designs to redesign the parkland creating a stunning walk around the two new lakes.
