Gardens & River Walk

River Walk

The kiss of the sun for pardon,
The song of the birds for mirth,
One is nearer God's Heart in the garden,
Than anywhere else on earth.

The Gardens

Whatever one's beliefs the walled garden at Logie is a peaceful but interesting place to visit - in a normal year this is so but major restructuring started in November 2009 and we had hoped to complete in early summer of 2010. However, 2 dumps of 3 foot of snow during the winter effectively stopped all work for 3 months and we are way behind. Work is continuing, but slowly, as those who are involved in the project have other pressures on their time during the summer months. We hope to be open in spring 2011 and apologise for any disppointment in the mean time.

Every year new plants are sourced and trialled in the garden. Excellent fresh seed comes from Plant World Seeds, a nursery in Cornwall who specialize in 'different' plants many of which can cope with Scotland.

Findhorn River Walk

River Walk ViewAcross the drive from the Steading, beside the play area, is the start of one of our river walks.

The path, suitable for all ages although not recommended for wheels of any sort, leads down to a viewpoint above the river and from there to a variety of routes depending on how far you want to walk.

River Walk ViewThe return loop to the steading is about 1km, the route upstream to the Meeting of The Waters and back about 3.5km and those looking for more exercise can cross the Divie and follow the Findhorn past Randolph's Leap and up to the Daltulich Bridge.

More detail on walks and access to other Estate areas can be found on the Access page.
