New to Logie in 2008, the three Divas have opened their workshop where they create beautiful textile bags, scarves, cards etc. Making much of the fabric themselves everything is certainly unique. They are now running creative courses throughout the year: A Passion for PaperSat 30th & Sun 31st August, 10am - 4pm A 2-day course on making your own paper and using it to make a stunning collage. Day 1: Learn how to make various papers using pulp, flax, silks and dried plant materials. Day 2: Combine your paper with fibres and additional materials to create a collage that can be stitched into and further embellished. £110 inc. lunch, refreshments and all materials Weaving MemoriesSat 27th September, 10am - 4pm Weave a wall hanging or a seamless 'treasure bag'. Choose to weave either a wall hanging based around a nature loom, or a seamless bag, using fabric strips, fibres and threads. Either project can include personally evocative objects and artefacts. £50 inc. lunch, refreshments and all basic materials A Tree to TreasureSat 25th & Sun 26th October, 10am - 4pm Designing and felting a wall hanging using trees as an inspiration. Day 1: Looking at the principles of design and colour and then preparing and felting the background. Day 2: Using a variety of techniques, add all the fun bits to enrich and decorate your wall hanging. We'll have beads, buttons, threads, mixed fibres and fabrics available. £110 inc. lunch, refreshments and all materials Christmas to KeepSat 22nd November, 10 - 4pm Create a seasonal heirloom decoration. Make a unique Christmas decoration combining natural materials, textiles, threads and beads to create something glorious to be admired year after year. £50 inc. lunch, refreshments and all materials. Places are limited to 6 participants and we ask for a non-refundable deposit of £15 for a 1 day workshop and £30 for a 2 day workshop to secure a place. 6 WEEK EVENING COURSESUnlocking Your Creative Potential - Part 1From Thursday 4th September, 7pm - 9pm "Creativity must be freed from the narrow parameters of capital A art and recognised as having a much broader play". This course is based on the amazing work of the poet, film-writer and director, Julia Cameron. No matter what your age, or your life path, whether making art is your career, hobby or dream, it is not too late, or too selfish, or too silly to work on your creativity. Throughout the course, we will be looking at the blocks that stop us from becoming the creative beings we were always destined to be, using fun and imaginative exercises to enable us to reach our full potential. Absolutely no experience needed, just a willingness to find your own creative key! £60 inc. refreshments and course materials Unlocking Your Creative Potential - Part 2From Thursday 30th October, 7pm - 9pm Further explorations into our creative selves. Participants must have completed Part 1. £60 inc. refreshments and course materials Interior Design for BeginnersFrom Tuesday 2nd September, 7pm-9pm Designing our homes is not only about how they look, but also about how they make us feel. Do you feel yourself relaxing as you walk through your front door, or does it take you ages to unwind? Over the next 6 weeks, we will take an easy approach to discovering the key elements that can turn any house into a beautiful, well planned home that nurtures you and promotes a sense of well being. Topics covered: Understanding how colour and lighting affect our well being. The functions of each space. Placement of furniture; utilising awkward spaces for maximum effect. Storage and decorating solutions. Windows, walls and floor coverings.
