Logie Estate View

Scotland has a long tradition of right to roam, recently enshrined in legislation.

Findhorn RiverAt Logie the river paths offer a variety of scenery and distance, the Dava Way, a long distance path from Forres to Grantown-on-Spey, can be joined or left at several points and there is access to the river for canoeists at Daltulich Bridge and Randolph's Leap.

At Lochindorb fishing is unrestricted from the shore along the eastern side and the network of hill roads offers walks (maps coming soon) to suit most tastes, from a short stroll along the shore to a 12km hike over the hill to Grantown or Dulnain Bridge.

The right to roam carries with it a responsibility - to use your common sense when exercising it.

For more information, visit the Outdoor Access Scotland Website, where you can view the Scottish Outdoor Access Code in full.

Please remember that the land or water you use for walking, riding, biking or canoeing is almost certainly shared with someone else whose livelihood depends on it, the farmer, forester, shepherd, gamekeeper or fishing ghillie.

Logie CountrysideYour dog, off its lead and 50m away, might seem to be under control but to a month old lamb or a capercailzie chick it is just as threatening as an armed terrorist would be to you and me.

Fire is always a danger in the countryside and a neglected camp fire, discarded bottle or cigarette butt can cause untold damage.
